Project Focus: Shoppers Drug Mart Patient Contact Centre, New Facility Fit-Up

Royalty is pleased to have worked with Shoppers Drug Mart on a first-of-its-kind facility: the SDM Patient Contact Centre, which will be an inbound and outbound patient contact centre with the capability to generate 100,000 outbound calls per week.

The goal of this state-of-the-art facility is to help tackle a serious problem of medical non-adherence—an issue that results in an annual cost of $7-9 billion to Canada’s health care system.

Royalty completed the project in 2014, which included special call centre acoustic specifications and sound masking.

Project Focus: Shoppers Drug Mart - Square One Shopping Centre - New Interior Fit-Up

If you've been to Square One Shopping Centre recently, you may have noticed the major expansion to the north west area of the building. According the press release, $84-million is being invested into a major renovation of the common areas, food court and shopper amenities. The design vision aims to infuse exciting architecture and create a sense of place throughout.

The north west expansion is also home to the newly-renovated Shoppers Drug Mart. We worked with Shopper's to create a unique store front using customized glazing and sleek black metal sign boxes around the perimeter of the store.

This job wasn't without its challenges. All building service lines run through this store location so it was necessary to drop the store ceiling height to accommodate the service lines. Royalty's team made it work and on tight timelines.

Project Focus: Four New Boutique Stores Open at Toronto Pearson

Toronto Pearson has been taking great strides to offer the best possible retail experience for travellers and visitors alike bringing global retailers onto the local runway. Recently Royalty finished a four-part project with The Nuance Group, a global leader in travel retail.

Located in Terminal 1 domestic departures and covering approximately 215 square meters of space, the new stores feature four prestigious brands: Aveda, Jo Malone, MAC Cosmetics and Victoria's Secret.

These are exciting times at Toronto Pearson and you could say that it has been our second home. We're excited to be working with innovative organizations like The Nuance Group and Toronto Pearson on projects like these that push the boundaries of travel-based retail development.

Project Focus: Regus 500 King Street West

We're always proud to work with organizations doing something just a little different. Regus is known around the world as the largest provider in flexible workspaces and one of the great things about this company is that it chooses some of the most unique and interesting spaces to build its offices.

Take one of the latest office spaces in Toronto: 500 King West. This beautiful building is a refurbished 19th century former factory that has undergone some pretty major exterior renovations in the recent past. For one, the building's former owner brought the original two-tone brick exterior back to life after it had been painted grey years ago. What a wonderful gift to the King West street scape!

Regus occupies the third floor of the industrial red brick building above a retail unit in King West's booming fashion district. It's convenient for commuting employees being close to public transit services, ferries and the city airport.

Royalty worked with Regus to create a fun and lively atmosphere with exposed beams and brick, bright colours and modern furnishings.

It looks like a perfect spot to collaborate on a big project or have a one-on-one meeting with a client.

This location is now open, but until you get down to see it, check out some of the other Regus office locations we've worked on in the past.

Project Focus: SUBWAY - Toronto Pearson International Airport

The woman ordering above was the first customer at this new location - congrats!

Toronto Pearson International Airport has been stepping up the game lately in terms of offering new and fresh food options for travellers. SUBWAY® Restaurants found great success with its first location in Terminal 1 since opening early last year and decided to add a second location to Terminal 3 recently.

Royalty once again worked with SUBWAY on this project which was considered a highly-sensitive location involving core drilling above an electrical back-up generator station below.

The DAVIDsTEA construction team was pleased with Royalty's completion of the Pearson International Airport location that we were approached once again to complete the 2,000-foot store on Roncesvalles Ave. which included trendy faux brick walls, bright colours and modern furnishings.

Just like the DAVIDsTEA team is passionate about great tasting tea, Royalty is passionate about working with innovative organizations with great vision.

The 4,000 square-foot beautyBOUTIQUE features new fixtures, digital signage, an enhanced fragrance and derm areas and provides customers with a luxurious retail environment complemented by a wide assortment of prestigious brands.

According to the Shopper's Drug Mart press release, the design was inspired by a gift box and the idea of unravelling a ribbon to reveal the present. The ribbon concept can be seen in the elements of the store design including the digital signage wrapped around the boutique and the finishing elements extending over the fixtures to the ceiling. The boutique's design allows customers to feel comfortable browsing in an environment that is modern, sleek and interactive while also catering to their need to complete their shopping quickly.
